
Ailing Kuki-Zo MLA airlifted from Imphal to Delhi
Vungzagin Valte, a Kuki-Zo MLA representing the Bharatiya Janata Party in Manipur, was airlifted from Churachandpur to New Delhi for advanced treatment. Mr. Valte sustained injuries during the May 2023 ethnic violence in Imphal and had been receiving treatment in New Delhi since then. He was admitted to the intensive care unit at Churachandpur Medical College Hospital before being transferred to an air ambulance to New Delhi, where he is now receiving further treatment. Yumnam Khemchand Singh, the Manipur Chief Minister, monitored Mr. Valte's health and ensured his transfer to a private hospital in Gurugram.
