Gaurav Gogoi, wife have 'deeper connection' with Pakistan agent says Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam Chief Minister, accused Gaurav Gogoi, Congress MP and State Congress chief, of having a "deeper connection" with Pakistani national Ali Tauqeer Sheikh and alleged violations of FCRA rules regarding his British wife Elizabeth Colburn's salary. Sarma claimed that Colburn worked for an organization linked to Sheikh in Pakistan and received funding from him through a bank account in Pakistan. He also accused Gogoi of visiting Pakistan in 2013, undergoing training there, and using IB sources for information about climate action after Narendra Modi came to power. Sarma demanded the cancellation of Colburn's OCI/VISA and urged the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to investigate. Gogoi, in response, called Sarma's press conference a "flop" and accused him of making baseless allegations.
