
Manipur: Yumnam Khemchand Singh stakes claim to form government, set to be CM
Yumnam Khemchand Singh, leader of the BJP Manipur Legislature Party, staked a claim to form a government in Manipur, following President's rule since February 2025. He met with Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and presented his claim to form a BJP-led NDA government. Two Kuki-Zo MLAs, L.M. Khaute and Ngursanglur Sanate, were present during the meeting. The oath ceremony is expected shortly.
