Tirupati laddu row: Tainted ghee supplier’s proxy supplied to TTD in February 2019, finds CBI charge sheet
Abuse of power by supplying adulterated ghee to a religious institution.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has released a charge sheet detailing how Harsh Fresh Dairy, a proxy of the Bhole Baba Dairy, supplied adulterated ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) in February 2019, even during the TDP-led NDA regime. The report also accuses Premier Agri Foods of similar practices. The CBI's findings contradict the government's claim that adulterated ghee supply started after the relaxation of guidelines during the YSRCP regime. The probe has uncovered a network of collusion between dairy companies, departmental staff, and individuals like Chinna Appanna, who received kickbacks for facilitating this illicit trade.
