Rename Ladki Bahin scheme after Ajit Pawar: NCP leader

Amol Mitkari, an NCP legislator, called for the renaming of the Maharashtra Government’s Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana to honor late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. He argued that the scheme should be named after Pawar as he was a beloved figure who showed deep care for women. The scheme provides monthly financial assistance of ₹1,500 to eligible women aged 21-65 through direct bank transfers and is believed to have contributed significantly to the BJP's victory in the 2024 Assembly elections.
