Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan demands judicial enquiry into realtor C.J. Roy’s suspected suicide during IT raid

Kerala’s Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has requested a judicial inquiry into the death of C.J. Roy, a realtor and head of the Confidant Group of Builders, during an Income Tax raid in Bengaluru. Vijayan expressed shock over the suspected suicide and criticized the IT department's actions, citing reports of "lack of required diligence" and potential violations of protocol. He emphasized that the presence of the person under scrutiny is mandatory during a search-and-seizure warrant and highlighted concerns about relentless pursuit by the IT officials despite Roy's cooperation. The Karnataka police are also investigating the death.
