
Sunetra Pawar reaches Mumbai, all set to become Maharashtra first woman deputy CM
Sunetra Pawar, a Rajya Sabha member, arrived in Mumbai on Saturday to be sworn in as Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister. She will take over the position following the death of her husband and NCP chief Ajit Pawar. The 40 legislators of the NCP will meet at Vidhan Bhavan to formally appoint Ms. Pawar as its leader and deputy CM, making her the first woman to hold this role in Maharashtra. Sharad Pawar, NCP supremo, expressed uncertainty about the appointment while Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister, stated support for the decision.
