Ajit Pawar, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, and four others were killed in a plane crash on Wednesday (January 28) near Baramati. The Bombardier Learjet 45 aircraft was en route from Mumbai to Baramati for campaign events ahead of the February 5 zilla parishad elections. The Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president Nitin Nabin, and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis were among those present at the funeral, which will be held with full state honors on Thursday (January 29). A team from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has arrived to investigate the crash.
