NSS director board decides not to go ahead with attempts to forge alliance with SNDP
The Nair Service Society (NSS) and the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP) have abandoned efforts to forge unity, citing the current political climate. G. Sukumaran Nair, NSS general secretary, stated that the proposed unity was impractical due to the NSS's policy of equidistance from all political formations. This decision follows previous attempts at rapprochement, which were hampered by differences over reservations and the involvement of Thushar Vellapally, son of Vellapally Natesan, who is an ally of the BJP-led NDA.
