India and EU are showing a fractured world another way to engage: EU chief Ursula von der Leyen

Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and Antonio Costa, EU Council President, arrived in Delhi for an EU-India summit, emphasizing a strategic partnership between the two nations amidst global tensions. The visit coincides with ongoing negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) that is expected to boost bilateral trade and investment. Both sides will discuss security and defense ties, technology partnerships, connectivity issues, and global challenges such as the war in Ukraine and the Indo-Pacific region. The EU delegation also plans to attend India's Republic Day celebrations and meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
