
Tamil Nadu Assembly session ends January 24.
The Business Advisory Committee has postponed the first Assembly session of 2026 until January 24th. The House will hold a period of mourning for several prominent figures, including industrialist Arunachalam Vellayan, poet Erode Tamilanban, Tamil cinema producer M. Saravanan, former Union Minister Shivraj Patil Chakurkar, and DMK legislator K. Ponnusamy. The Assembly will then debate the Governor's address on January 22nd and 23rd, with a reply scheduled for January 24th.
