Govt land scam in Nagamangala: Upalokayukta registers suo motu case against Tahsildar, others
Abuse of power and institutional failure are evident in the land scam.
The Upalokayukta has registered a suo motu case against the Tahsildar of Nagamangala taluk and others for allegedly creating fake documents to illegally grant 300 acres of government land worth ₹200 crore. A criminal case was also filed against 11 individuals involved in the scam, following an investigation that revealed large-scale manipulation of government land records. The Deputy Commissioner of Mandya, Kumar, recommended suspending several officials and a Village Assistant has been relieved of duty. The Tahsildar has been served with a show-cause notice for dereliction of duty.
