Thiruvalluvar Day: T.N. CM Stalin presents awards to eminent personalities

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin presented various awards to prominent figures and scholars on Thiruvalluvar Day, January 16, 2026. Stalin awarded the Ayyan Thiruvalluvar Award to scholar M.P. Sathiyavel Muruganar and the Perarignar Anna Award for 2025 to DMK general secretary and Minister Duraimurugan. Other awards included the Thanthai Periyar Award, Annal Ambedkar Award, Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Award, Mahakavi Bharathiar Award, Pavendhar Bharathidasan Award, Thamizhthendral Thiru.Vi.Ka. Award, Muththamizh Kavalar Ki. Aa. Pe. Viswanatham Award, and Muthamizh Arignar Kalaignar Award. The awards included a cheque for ₹5 lakh, a one-sovereign gold medal, a citation, and a shawl.
