
Maharashtra civic polls: Fight between many avatars of Mahayuti and Maha Vikas Aghadi
In Maharashtra's upcoming municipal elections, six parties have formed alliances to contest the 29 corporations. The BJP has allied with Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and NCP to challenge the Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT). The Congress is contesting alongside VBA and NCP-SP. In Thane, the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) is facing a tough fight against the Thackerays and NCP-SP alliance. The NCP and Ajit Pawar's faction have joined forces with Sharad Pawar to regain their stronghold in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. The BJP has also formed alliances with smaller parties in various cities. Post-poll alliances are fluid, with unexpected partnerships emerging in some areas.
