A non-resident Keralite woman filed a complaint against Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil with the Chief Minister's office, alleging sexual assault and abuse. The Crime Branch obtained a sworn video statement from the victim, who claims that Mamkootathil befriended her online, promised marriage, and raped her after persuading her to meet him at a hotel room in Thiruvalla. The woman also preserved the dress she wore during the alleged assault and submitted financial transaction records, DNA test results, and other evidence to investigators. The victim's claims were supported by the Youth Congress, which stated that Mamkootathil was the organization's State President at the time.
