BMC polls: Maharashtra Assembly Speaker's brother shows ₹124 crore assets in affidavit
Makrand Narwekar, younger brother of Rahul Narwekar, Maharashtra Assembly Speaker, is among the wealthiest candidates for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) election with declared assets of ₹124.4 crore. He seeks a third term in ward no 226 on a BJP ticket and his assets have grown significantly since his previous election in 2017. Samadhan Sarvankar, son of former Shiv Sena MLA Sada Sarvankar, and Shraddha Jadhav, former mayor and candidate for the Shiv Sena (UBT), also declared significant assets. Opposition parties have accused Rahul Narwekar of interfering in the nomination process.
