Sabarimala gold case: M.B. Rajesh dares Satheesan to refute Kerala HC observation of no govt interference in probe
M.B. Rajesh, CPI(M) State secretariat member and Excise Minister, challenged V.D. Satheesan, Leader of the Opposition, to refute a Kerala High Court finding that the government had not prejudiced the investigation into the Sabarimala gold theft case. The court found no evidence of pressure on the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and rejected claims of political bias in its composition. The court also permitted the expansion of the SIT if needed. A. Padmakumar, a former Travancore Devaswom Board president and CPI(M) leader, was denied bail by the Vigilance Enquiry Commissioner and Special Judge, Kollam.
