Maharashtra civic polls: Fadnavis warns local BJP units amid party’s alliance with Congress, AIMIM

The BJP has formed post-poll alliances with the Congress and AIMIM in some municipal councils in Maharashtra, defying party leadership directives. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis warned of action against local leaders involved in these arrangements, stating that such alliances are not approved by the party's senior leadership. The alliance was formed to secure a majority in Ambernath Municipal Council and Akot Municipal Council, with Shiv Sena (UBT) opposing the move. Despite this, the BJP secured control in both councils, forming coalitions with various parties including the NCP and AIMIM.
