Edappadi K. Palaniswami, general secretary of the AIADMK, presented a memorandum to Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi alleging corruption worth ₹4 lakh crore during the DMK government's tenure. Palaniswami claimed that he had submitted evidence and requested the Governor to form a commission of inquiry headed by a former Supreme Court judge. He also criticized the DMK for its recent schemes, such as laptop distribution and cash aid, arguing they were solely aimed at securing votes in upcoming elections.
