HDK seeks CBI inquiry into Ballari incident; accuses government of trying to shield accused
Allegations of a cover-up and abuse of power by the government warrant urgent attention.
H.D. Kumaraswamy, Union Minister for Industries and Steel, demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the death of Rajashekhar Reddy, a Congress worker in Ballari, alleging illegal second post-mortem and government attempts to cover up the case. He questioned the need for the second post-mortem, demanding transparency from the Siddaramaiah government regarding the first report and accusing them of protecting murderers. Kumaraswamy also criticized the investigation by the Karnataka police, calling it ineffective and questioning the presence of multiple guns in Ballari.
