In June 2025, the Directorate Of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) conducted searches at 19 locations in Chennai, Trichy, and Coimbatore related to KN Nehru, a DMK leader and former minister, investigating alleged irregularities worth Rs 1,020 Crore in tender manipulation and cash-for-job scams. The Enforcement Directorate had earlier communicated these allegations to the Tamil Nadu Government, leading to an FIR based on court direction. MK Stalin called the DVAC action politically motivated, while the TVK government defended it as necessary legal action against corruption. Searches followed similar actions against other former ministers post-TVK government formation.
