Mattathur panchayat defection row ends in compromise

Noorjahan Navas, vice-president of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), resigned from her position following a political controversy in the Mattathur grama panchayat. She submitted her resignation letter to the KPCC leadership and stated she faced pressure to vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party. Tessy Jose, the panchayat president, chose not to resign despite the controversy. The decision was made with consensus from all parties involved and will be guided by the KPCC leadership.
