The blast also damaged nearby structures and collapsed five to six houses; train operations were suspended for about an hour. More than 18 injuries are suspected. Rescue teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are involved in clearing debris and searching for trapped individuals.
