Several people feared dead in rock collapse in Odisha stone quarry

A rockfall at a stone quarry in Odisha's Dhenkanal district resulted in the feared deaths of several workers. The incident occurred on Saturday evening while workers were drilling and exploring the quarry near Gopalpur village. Dhenkanal Collector Ashish Ishwar Patil, SP Abhinav Sonkar, and rescue teams from the local fire service and ODRAF are at the scene, with Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik expressing condolences and calling for investigations into the cause and safety measures.
