Three-year jail term for Kerala MLA Antony Raju in tampering with evidence case

A Kerala court sentenced former transport minister Antony Raju to three years' imprisonment for tampering with evidence in a 1990 drug case. The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Nedumangadu, found him guilty of forging and planting material evidence related to the seizure of an Australian national's undergarment. Raju will be disqualified as an MLA due to his conviction under the Representation of the People Act. He was granted bail and has one month to appeal against the verdict.
