YSRCP leader calls ED arrest of Karumuri Nageswara Rao political vendetta
Allegations of political vendetta in an arrest raise concerns about abuse of power.
On Monday, Mudunuri Prasada Raju, YSR Congress Party West Godavari District president, attacked the State government at a press conference in Bhimavaram over the arrest of former Excise Minister and YSRCP leader Karumuri Nageswara Rao by Enforcement Directorate officials on Sunday in Hyderabad. Mr. Rao was arrested in connection with a money laundering case related to an alleged liquor transportation scam. Raju termed the move as political vendetta, alleging that the NDA government targeted Mr. Rao for his active role within YSRCP and criticism of the government’s failures.
