Gandhinagar typhoid surge: Over 100 persons hospitalised; Amit Shah reviews situation

Harsh Sanghavi, Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister, visited Gandhinagar Civil Hospital after 104 patients, including children, were admitted for suspected typhoid. Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, has been briefed on the situation and will review it again this evening. A team of 22 doctors is treating the patients, while officials are investigating the source of contaminated drinking water in the affected areas. The Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation is conducting door-to-door surveys and advising residents to boil water and consume home-cooked food.
