Ajit Pawar's NCP should merge with Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP), says Sanjay Raut
Sanjay Raut, leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), urged Ajit Pawar to merge his faction of the NCP with the original NCP (SP) led by his uncle, Sharad Pawar. Raut questioned why Ajit Pawar is in the Mahayuti government after alleging corruption within the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), which had been ruled by the BJP. The two factions are contesting the January 15th polls together. The NCP and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) are contesting the elections for Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad civic bodies in alliance.
