Pinarayi Vijayan Denies Hawala Allegations, Questions Enforcement Directorate Tactics

On August 22, Pinarayi Vijayan, Leader of the Opposition in the Keralam Assembly, strongly denied allegations of hawala dealings involving him, his daughter T. Veena, or any family member during a response to questions in Thrissur. He asserted that Ms. Veena had cooperated with the Enforcement Directorate’s investigation and questioned why they issued a press release instead of publishing details on their website. Mr. Vijayan alleged targeting due to her relationship with him.
