AAP leader Satyendar Jain arrested in Delhi Jal Board tender scam, calls move "political"
Allegations of corruption and politically motivated arrest raise concerns about abuse of power.
Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi water minister Satyendar Jain was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch on Tuesday for allegedly manipulating a tender process at the Delhi Jal Board. Jain claims his arrest is politically motivated due to upcoming Punjab Assembly elections. His lawyer asserts the arrest is illegal, citing lack of evidence. Along with five others, including ex-Delhi Jal Board CEO Udit Prakash Rai, they were produced before Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi. The AAP calls the move "political" and illegal.
