
Satyendar Jain Arrested in Delhi Jal Board Tender Manipulation Case
Allegations of corruption and criminal conspiracy in a public service raise serious concerns.
Satyendar Jain, former Delhi water minister and AAP leader, was arrested for allegedly manipulating a tender process at the Delhi Jal Board. Six people were also arrested, including Udit Prakash Rai, a former CEO of the DJB. The arrests came after investigations revealed large-scale irregularities and criminal conspiracy in upgrading sewage treatment plants. Jain spent 18 months in jail on money laundering charges before being released on bail in October 2024. The AAP termed the move political.
