Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) officials confirmed bacterial contamination in 26 out of over 70 water samples collected from the Bhagirathpura area, leading to illness for nearly 2,800 residents and four deaths. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued a notice to Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary Anurag Jain demanding a detailed report within two weeks. Urban development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, who attended a meeting on Thursday to address the issue, assured that work on a new water supply line will commence by Friday and that the tender for the project will be cleared.
