Human rights group FairSquare urged FIFA to bar Gianni Infantino from seeking re-election, arguing he has already served three terms as president. In 2016, Infantino began his first term following Sepp Blatter’s resignation, which FIFA ruled does not count toward the limit. FairSquare filed a complaint with FIFA's Governance, Audit and Compliance Committee (GACC), questioning this interpretation and calling it inconsistent with FIFA statutes. The vote for the next president is scheduled for March 18 in Morocco.
