Family of Three Jumps Godavari After Alleged Harassment, Rescuers Search
On August 16, 2026, around 11:30 p.m., K. Nooka Raju, his wife Meena, and their daughter Sowjanya jumped into the Godavari river from a bridge in Rajamahendravaram city after allegedly being harassed by Sk. Sadhik Khan of Kakinada's PRO Rifle Shooting Academy. Their 10-year-old grandson was rescued, while Nooka Raju left a note alleging threats and harassment. The family’s car was found at the scene. Rescue operations involving fisherfolk and requests for NDRF and SDRF teams are underway to locate the missing individuals.
