Assam CM doles out ₹15,000 to each of 96,842 flood-hit families
Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam's Chief Minister, announced on Monday that 96,842 flood-affected families have received Rs 15,000 each, totaling Rs 146.26 crore spent so far. Another 3,000 families will be covered soon. The state is assessing damage affecting 26,681 houses and 18,887 cattle sheds, with a goal to complete the process by October 9 or 10.
