On Sunday, August 17, 2026, Indrawati, the 95-year-old mother of IPS officer Ashutosh Mishra and widow of a former government inter-college principal, was found murdered at her home in Rudha Dhamrua village. Her gold jewellery was missing. Found dead around 9 a.m., she had been killed sometime between Saturday night (August 15) and Sunday morning. A domestic worker discovered her body and alerted neighbors. Mishra lodged a complaint against unidentified persons after arriving at the scene around 3 p.m. Police are investigating, with post-mortem results pending to determine the cause of death. Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party chief, criticized the state government over the incident.
