
India Registrar notifies 40 census questions for September 1 start in snow-bound areas
On Friday, Registrar General of India Mrityunjay Kumar Narayan notified 40 questions for the Census population enumeration starting September 1 in snow-bound areas. Caste details will be collected for the first time based on self-reporting. Self-enumeration is available from August 17 to 31 before house-to-house enumeration begins. This phase covers Ladakh and other specified regions until September 30, with a total budget of Rs 11,718 crore allocated by the Union Cabinet.
