Bikram Singh Majithia, Akali Dal leader, called the knife attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal at Takht Sri Hazur Sahib Gurudwara in Nanded a total intelligence failure. One suspect was detained after attacking Badal with a kirpan around 1:45 pm; another security guard was also injured. This marks the second assassination attempt on Badal, who narrowly escaped an attack in December 2024 at Darbar Sahab.
