Sukhbir Singh Badal, Shiromani Akali Dal chief, was attacked in Nanded, Maharashtra, by a man identified as Jaspal Singh, who tried to stab him with a kirpan. Badal suffered a 4-5 cm cut on his hand and is hospitalized but out of danger. The security officer intervened, taking most of the damage.
