Sukhbir Singh Badal, Akali Dal chief and former Punjab deputy CM, was attacked by Jaspal Singh, a Nihang Sikh sevadar at Mata Sahib Gurduwara in Nanded, Maharashtra. Jaspal attacked Badal with a kirpan on April 29 as he left the gurudwara, injuring his right hand. The attacker claimed responsibility for Punjab's drug issues and was arrested; both victims are receiving treatment.
