Women-targeted crimes up by 3.16%

Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy released the annual report for 2025, revealing a 3.16% increase in crimes against women in Telangana. While overall crime declined by 2.33%, outraging of modesty saw a significant rise (9.02%), and murders of women increased marginally. The report highlights positive outcomes from initiatives like Bharosa Centres, which handled over 3,558 cases, resulting in 81 convictions and ₹5.99 crore in compensation for victims. Telangana also outperformed national trends in cybercrime prevention, with a 3% decrease in complaints and a 21% reduction in financial losses. The state achieved the highest FIR conversion rate nationally at 24%, demonstrating effective enforcement efforts.
