Abuse of power as a convicted rapist possesses a phone in prison.
On August 11, Central Crime Branch (CCB) officials found a mobile phone in the possession of former Hassan MP and convicted rapist Prajwal Revanna during a surprise inspection at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison. The Redmi 5G phone had social media apps and was seized along with other items from his barrack. Assistant Superintendent Iranna Rangapur has been suspended, while an FIR was registered under Sections 42 of the Karnataka Prisons (Amendment) Act, 2022, and Section 323 of BNS.
