NASA Invites ISRO to Join Moon Base Program Near Lunar South Pole
At the ninth India-U.S. Civil Space Joint Working Group meeting in Bengaluru, NASA formally invited ISRO to join its Moon Base programme near the lunar South Pole, part of President Donald Trump’s National Space Policy. The two agencies also agreed to advance discussions on open scientific data sharing and civil-commercial space cooperation under the Artemis Accords and U.S.-India TRUST Initiative. ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan and U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gor attended the meeting held at ISRO headquarters, August 11, 2026.
