On Monday, Bangladesh PM Tarique Rahman raised the extradition of exiled Awami League leader and former PM Sheikh Hasina with Indian high commissioner Dinesh Trivedi, emphasizing Dhaka's hope for a positive response while cautioning against actions that could harm bilateral ties. Foreign minister Khalilur Rahman said Bangladesh wants all countries to respect its state structure, referring specifically to Hasina’s Aug 5 news conference in Delhi which was seen as disrespectful to the judiciary. Tarique advised India to avoid such incidents and expressed reassurance after discussions with Trivedi on a range of bilateral issues, including handing over suspected killers of Osman Hadi. Meanwhile, RAW chief Parag Jain arrived in Dhaka Sunday to help normalize ties between the two nations.
