West Bengal CM orders fresh probe into 2024 doctor rape, murder case
A delayed investigation into a rape and murder raises concerns about justice delayed.
On Sunday, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced a fresh probe into the 2024 rape and murder of a doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, following a request from the victim's mother, now a BJP MLA. The investigation will be conducted under the Special Commission Act, 1952. Adhikari also ordered an inquiry into alleged lapses in the victim’s cremation.
